Mark, the founder of Op Kop, is at the helm of the roastery. His journey began in 2020 with the opening of his own cycling café in Joure, the VanMark Café, where he combined his two passions: cycling and coffee. Mark believed he could do more than just sell good coffee – he wanted to have control over the roasting process himself. After training at ’t Scheve Huys in Franeker and acquiring the necessary machines, he started small and gradually expanded into a spacious, professional roastery. What began as a modest operation quickly grew into a professional roastery that now provides freshly roasted, high-quality coffee daily.
