10 watts less air resistance due to good aerodynamics
Aerodynamics is very important, especially when you can’t draft and have to complete that long ride on your own. With the Aero, we’ve chosen a fast single dial-lock to secure the shoe. The closure is covered with a ‘lace cover’ with a zipper. The upper must be as smooth as possible to minimize air resistance. That’s why there is no closure on the side to avoid turbulence. Thanks to the smooth finish, a benefit of up to 10 watts can be gained, as shown by the tests we conducted in the wind tunnel.

Comfort when putting on and in rainy conditions
The shoe is softly finished, providing extra comfort when getting in and out. The transition from the hard carbon shell to the softer upper is gradual, without any hard edges. This is possible because the construction of the shoe is made from ‘one piece’: the shoe is made as a single unit. This is a labor-intensive and expensive production method, but it results in a significantly stronger and more comfortable shoe. Even more comfort is provided by the holes in the carbon shell sole, which help drain water in rainy conditions. The upper is made from microfiber leather, which is lightweight, very strong, durable, and antibacterial.

Efficient pedal stroke without tightening too much
Once in the shoe, you can immediately transfer your power to the pedals, even if you can't fully zip up the shoe under time pressure. Often, shoes are not tightened properly, leading to a large loss of power. The carbon shell sole of the Cadomotus Aero is well heat-moldable and therefore fits your foot snugly, ensuring an efficient pedal stroke. The shoe is already so tight that every pedal stroke counts, which is a huge advantage, especially uphill or when accelerating after a turn.

The stiff shoe shell helps save energy for running
The main advantage of the shoe is ultimately the solid shell sole. As mentioned, by cycling more efficiently, you conserve energy for running. This is further enhanced by the fact that the stiff shoe also clearly stabilizes and relieves your calf. This allows you to cycle more from your hips and thighs, saving your calves for the run. You delay fatigue, which can result in a significant gain during the run. In short, it’s a shoe that improves both your cycling and running performance.
