Our GRIT 4540 is designed from the ground up to adjust your expectations of an all-road carbon wheelset. Ideal for climbing and all purpose road OR gravel/CX (mixed terrain, gravel, cyclocross). How do they do it?
Based on the experience with the 6560, we launched the GRIT with our variable-depth sinusoidal cross section for unparalleled crosswind stability. We also introduced a slightly varying width in the profile and optimized our carbon layup, focusing on areas of high stress. The nipple bed has been completely redesigned to provide greater carbon thickness in that area, while we do away with material where it is not needed.
21 mm hook to hook and 29.9 mm at the widest point. Try a uniform tire bed with no holes. Removing holes from the tire bed makes the wheel incredibly stiff. This allowed us to make the tire bed thinner (lighter) while providing greater hoop stiffness (stronger). Oh yeah, no more tubeless tape either. The GRIT 4540. Tubeless and ready for the stage.
